The geometrical shape of the building is based on the macro division of the main shape subscribed by the footprint of the plot. From cutting part of the main shape and taking into consideration the condition of the context, came out the final shape that is a result of the optimisation of the internal space and external reduction of impact to the surrounding area.

The mass to the north stands tall and grand with the north facing part marking the movement and the rhythm of the trains. On top is a pavilion of greenery, reducing the environmental impact whilst providing a beautiful amenity space.

A series of window boxes project from the main volume to create this movement while also acting as a screen to comfortably reduce the overlooking aspect while still providing light and texture to the living space.

The beauty of bricks. A secret corner development. A closed site close to the centre nestles this sculpture shaped new development.

This is the sensation that the space brings to our mind and moves the design crea-tivity in this direction when creating the building.

A new sense of expression and explanation of emotion. This is what we want to transfer to people with this emotion that will live in this space. The emotion of the architecture has to elevate the emotion of the people that live in and surround this new building.

The request of the client was to join the technicality of the purpose of the space with creativity to produce a building to be admired.

The idea was to create nice independent building with the amenity space on the top of the roof and a parking space.

The approach was to create a beautiful building that will satisfy all the requests from the client and was able to give all the comfort to the people that will live there.

What could be understood as a problem as in the particular form and conformation of the plot, is finally the essence of this project.

The beautiful shape of the plot is elevated to the rest of the volume.

This is the main message that is kept in the mind of the design when the plot came to our consideration. The area is very tiny but the idea is to create something that can give a new character and emphasising this corner of the city.

The concept of the project works on the idea of a massive sculptured volume of bricks, leaving free the ground floor, for parking, circulation and for green area, digging the deck for amenity space in one side and greater height for the attic. Following this sense of digging, we played with the position of windows and terraces to breathe.

The new library is planned to have a direct relationship with the environment in terms of scale, to be understood as a service for the community. The resulting parts of the volume are conceived as different rooms, although the space of the library is continuous and the plan is free.

The volume makes the library spatially diverse and the scale of the library zones smaller. It also provide the rooms with different amount of light. The cultural and educational facilities are located in the upper floors, directly accessible from the main entrance. The office is located under the library so it is completely functional and private.

The library is located in a public space surrounded by trees, so the building is placed in the center of the site in order to prevent the trees from being cut and to preserve the character of the existing public space.

This represent the winning proposal in the Marecchia Bridge Competition. Marecchia is a bridge that strengthens the route from the periphery area to the natural countryside. The bridge crosses the water diagonally and forms the best possible visual and functional connection between the embankments. By defining the entrance to the city this bridge act as a "city gate". In an elegant gesture the bridge invites people into the city.

The bridge relates to the canal environment and its design expresses fluidity and flow. It embeds itself into a network of pedestrian paths.
