Onyx HX

The 3D composition design installation features an onyx wall with a hexagonal shape in one of our interior projects. The hexagonal onyx installation design connects the wall and the stone, with a movement of the corners to create the directional flow. This transforms the 2D shape into a 3D effect.

Reverse Temple

Design Meets Religion – A bespoke temple commissioned for one of our clients, designed to fit perfectly under a staircase. A dismissed space before storage becomes a place of reflection, a point of quiet contemplation where you can focus on yourself and your surroundings. The use of warm materials, such as timber, and the adaptability of the design to the space define the concept. The idea is to reverse the staircase and lower the design to maximize the space, creating a hidden nook for thoughtful introspection.

gz - giuseppe zanotti shopping window

This project is a commission from Giuseppe Zanotti, the chief designer of Giuseppe Zanotti Design, one of the coolest shoe designers on the market. We have designed a range of elements to enhance the new Winter Season Collection 2013, inspired by the fluidity and elegance taken from observation of all the little details and inspired by the mood of the new collections.

We developed the design of the shopping windows at world worldwide level including shops in Milan, Rome, Miami, London, New York, and Dubai. For each collection, we decided to experiment with a combination of digital design techniques associated with innovative manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, metal spray finishing, 5-axis milling, and plasma laser cutting. The result is a series of various stands with different scales and multiple configurations enabling a better result for the exhibitions of the final product.

Frequency wall

Frequency Wall is a private commission for worldwide wood machining fair LIGNA in Hanover. Using reclaimed white poplar timber and converted in OSB panel we designed a reception desk at the main entrance for SCM Group. The challenge of this project was to optimize the machining time and to minimize the assembly time and delivery, to ensure an assemblage without glue in only two working days. The name of the structure is inspired by the frequency of the sound waves generated by the noise of cutters as they work the wood, perfectly reproduced by the fascinating assembly of over 850 different shapes.

Woodstream

Woodstream is a three dimensional structure that expresses the complexity of surfaces and volumes that can be obtained using six-axes machining processes. Masses and volumes intersect each other like roots to create an array of overlapping patterns generated using tool-paths strategies.

This gigantic sculpture developed for Scm Group has a total length of 22 meters. Scm Group is a world leader in the design, production and distribution of technologically advanced solutions for the woodworking industry.

Wooden Eggs

Wooden Eggs, showcase a new technology from SCM Group, introduced to a new range of CNC routers. We developed a series of patterns to demonstrate the potential and precision of these machines and at the same time to reveal the complexity and beauty of the wood fibers emerging from reclaimed cedar timber.

The three applied patterns are derived from a series of mathematical functions controlled through a series of variables, displacing pockets, contours and relief patterns. Each pattern will bring to the wood new life revealing the grain and complexity.
